Frank Placek, Jr. Obituary and Funeral

Frank was visiting family in Wisconsin when he suffered a heart attack and died. He had been diagnozed with COPD and emphysema resulting from his years working as a pressman. Still, his death was unexpected. He was buried on his grandson’s 20th birthday.

Frank, Jr. was born in the Czech Republic and arrived in the United States at not quite six months of age. He was already a married father when he applied for naturalization.

Dad and Peggy in Brazil

When Dad and Peggy were married they sponsored a child through the Christian Children’s Fund. This child was in Brazil. Unlike most monthly donors, they decided to go meet the child and see what the charity was doing. These pictures are from the trip and are part of a photo album that Peggy put together. Dad supported CCF up to the time of his death.
