Dad and Peggy in Brazil
When Dad and Peggy were married they sponsored a child through the Christian Children’s Fund. This child was in Brazil. Unlike most monthly donors, they decided to go meet the child and see what the charity was doing. These pictures are from the trip and are part of a photo album that Peggy put together. Dad supported CCF up to the time of his death.

In rural Racine County, Bob attended the Beebe School located in what is now Elmwood Park, WI. This class photo would have put him in second grade.

This photo came from the Faulkner street house. The date is unknown but certainly in the 1940s.
Robyn’s 7th Grade Graduation
Bob Placek – 8th Grade Graduation
The invitation scanned here was for Bob’s 8th grade graduation from the Trautwein School (Racine, WI) in 1952. Originally built in 1912, the Trautwein School was enlarged with an addition in 1954. Students at the time petitioned to keep the school’s original tower, which housed the old Trautwein bell. The school, known at the time as one of the four Western Complex Schools (along with Bartlett, Hood Creek and Franksville), closed in 1981. Biob is in the bottom row, second to right.

Bob Placek Takes a Navy Trip
As a student at NSB High, Bob Placek was selected to go on a Navy trip where they cruised from Jacksonville to Norfolk. Perhaps he was interested in the Navy, but my guess is he took the trip just for the plane rides at the beginning and end!

Phi Kappa Tau – Bob Placek
Bob was a brother of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity at the University of Florida (Alpha Eta chapter). He is the third from the left in the row next to the bottom.
